ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF LWVO
When you join the League, you also become a member of the State and US Leagues.
Each level plays a vital role in empowering voters and protecting democracy.

LOCAL LEAGUES

Provides year-round direct support to voters to increase civic participation

Educates community on how local and state government works

Develops and facilitates candidate and issue forums and guides for local elections to provide neutral, nonpartisan information for voters

Organizes voter registration drives and other voter outreach programs

Manages local Vote411 information
LWVO

Establishes positions on state issues based on consensus across Ohio Local Leagues

Lobbies state office holders on behalf of those issues

Manages media communication on state actions

Advocates for and defends democratic principals across a wide spectrum of platforms

Develops civic programming and materials to support statewide civic participation initiatives and for adoption at the local level

Produces voter guides and organizes voter forums for candidates and issues in statewide races

Supports local Leagues in education, advocacy, and legal action

Individual members: $75 per year is the recommended amount, or pay what you can ($20 minimum).
-
You can add a second member ($150 total for both recommended, $40 for both minimum), but they each will need to provide a unique email address.

Life members: In appreciation of their dedication to democracy, Life Members (members for more than 50 years) are exempt from membership dues.
-
Dues distributions: 20% of dues will go to the local League (of your choice), 47% will go to the state League, and 33% will go to LWVUS.
