For the Sheraton Suites Cuyahoga Falls, where we are holding convention, there are two types of rooms available - a traditional suite with 2 double beds or one king plus a living room area with a pullout sofa, or a king multi-level suite with a king upstairs and living area with pullout sofa downstairs. The rate for traditional suite is $139 single occupancy, $139 double, $154 triple, and $169 quad. For the king multilevel the rate is $309 single, $309 double, $324 triple, $339 quad.
Please note: The cut-off date for reserving rooms in our room block is Monday, April 17. After that date, it's subject to availability.
Convention attendees must make their own reservations at the hotel. Guests can make reservations by going online here or by calling central reservations at 1-800-325-3535 and asking for League of Women Voters Room Block.
Voting Delegates include:
• The President (or designated alternate) from each local League.
• In addition to the President, delegates for each Leauge based on the membership reported to LWVUS on January 31, 2017 calculated as follows:
For Leagues with greater than 300 members, the number of additional
delegates continues to increase by one for each increment of 50 members.
• The members of the LWVO Board of Directors.
• One delegate from each ILO or at-large unit.
Please note: a League's delegates may only participate as voting members of Convention if that League has met its Ohio PMP responsibilities through the quarter immediately preceding the State Convention.
All other League members may attend the Convention as visitors.
Education funds can be used to cover delegate expenses in a limited capacity, detailed here. A local League Ed Fund can provide a grant to the Operating Fund to cover expenses associated with attending educational sessions at Convention (speakers and workshops, not the business meeting), provided the purpose is documented by the treasurer.
