The League of Women Voters of Ohio mourns the loss of Terry McCoy

The League of Women Voters of Ohio mourns the loss of Terry McCoy who died Oct. 2, 2009. Terry was an inspirational leader, dedicated advocate and fierce friend. Following her service as the Ohio League’s Legislative Director, she served as state president from 2001 to 2005. Among her many contributions to the state League were her passionate advocacy on behalf of judicial reform and the abolition of the death penalty, and her work to institutionalize the Ohio League’s Lobby Corps and make it one of the premiere League lobbying groups in the country.

Terry held leadership positions in the League of Women Voters at all levels, including as president of the Metro Columbus League from 1991 to 1994 and as a board member for the League of Women Voters of the United States from 1994 to 1998.

Terry is survived by her husband, David McCoy, and their two children and families. Funeral arrangements will be posted as soon as they are available. Terry will be deeply missed.
