PUBLIC POLICY, EVENTS AND COMMUNICATIONS INTERN
The League of Women Voters of Ohio seeks a dynamic and motivated intern to support the League in its work to encourage informed and active participation in government, increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
This unpaid internship entails scheduling speakers and facilitators, organizing legislative visits, assist in creating handouts, and coordinating volunteers for the League’s spring Statehouse Day event and summer Convention. Regular projects include drafting correspondence and newsletter articles, updating various databases and mailing lists, attending lobby corps meetings, and research to assist the office in its advocacy and membership services work. Activities would focus on presenting complex policy issues in a manner accessible to the public, League members and the Legislature.
The ideal candidate has the ability to take initiative, strong communication skills, attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple projects at once.
